What are Meniscus Repair / Trimming?
Meniscus is a C-shaped fibrocartilage present in the knee joint. As there is no blood flow in the meniscus therefore, if damaged it doesn’t heals itself. With age it tends to deteriorate and eventually gets damaged. It further gets damaged if the individual suffers from an injury.
Torn Meniscus Symptoms:
Diagnosis can be done with diagnostic aids like X-ray, MRI etc.
Treatment of a Meniscus Tear:
A torn meniscus is treated by means of trimming its edges in order to provide the patient with as much comfort as possible. This process is widely known as meniscectomy. This is basically an arthroscopic procedure.
