Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a disorder in which a person suffers from seizures or fits due to abnormal electrical activity of the brain. Fits may even appear at birth due to problems during delivery or can be caused by tumours, head injury or infections of the brain.
In Ayurveda, epilepsy is categorized into four main types, depending on particular body energies that are vitiated. The chief aim of the Ayurvedic treatment is to strengthen heart and restore proper functioning of the nervous system. Ayurvedic treatment includes nourishing herbs along with a tonic effect. Besides the herbs, proper diet and lifestyle adjustments are also prescribed. A light, easily digestible diet and avoidance of mental strain can be very effective in curing this disease.
