Ligament Reconstruction/Repair (ACL)
What is ACL?
It stands for Anterior Cruciate Ligament, and is among the four major ligaments in our knee.
Symptoms of a Torn ACL:
What does surgery involve?
Surgery involves repair of the torn ligament. If the ligament is torn from middle, it is stitched, and if it has detached from the bone, then it is reattached. Reconstruction involves an intra-articular technique, requires a structure taken from the knee to replace the ACL. Further, for the extra-articular technique involves in taking a structure from other part and attaching it to the ACL.
