Ringworm as per AyurvedicConcept
Ringworm is commonly referred as “Dadru” in Ayurvedic terminology and it can be said to be caused due to Kapha-Vatadoshas. Here Kapha is referred to the thick or cold mucus. Vata signifies the Air that is cold or dry. Both Kapha and Vata together affect the skin and cause toxic wastes to get collected. These ama get in to the deep layers of tissues, through the rakta(blood), muscles (mansa), rasa (nutrient plasma in the tissues) and even lasika (lymphs) so deeply that ringworms are caused.
The third Dosha, the Pitta that signifies the fire or heat, is the third element that further aggravates the condition of ringworm.
AyurvedicTreatment
The first step is to rectify the problems persisting to the Kapha and Vatadoshas and once that is done, the last of the doshas, Pitta has to be soothed and all the toxic filth should be cleaned from the body.
Recommended Diet
Stay away from highly sour foods and citrus containing fruits like lemons and oranges. Then also further reduce the consumption of rich foods, especially non-vegetarian foods, pickles and chutneys.Any food item made out of wheat like bread or pizza should be avoided too. Fast foods, cold drinks and ice creams not to forget alcoholic beverages too should be done away with. Non-vegetarian foods cause pitta to be set on fire and so they should not be consumed.
